Rydal Cave: a poem.

The silence surrounds the hilltops,

Disrupted by trickling water

below.

Footsteps sound like a marching army

Trudging through muddy trenches

To War.

The footsteps are mine and mine alone.

A drop falls from the mouth

As a tear drops from the eye.

Crafted by man, both flesh and rock

Merge from the same God creating

Sublime Beauty.
